Dairy air?

My neighborhood smells like chocolate. It's a "good thing", & I'm sure Martha Stewart herself would approve. We can thank the Blommer Chocolate Factory for this. Not everybody, however, finds this appealing.

Apparently, some killjoy wants to put the kaibosh on the whole scene. This tattletale called the EPA to complain that the factory was spewing cocoa powder into the atmosphere...poisoning our air! What kind of a person would do such a thing? I imagine he (or she) lives in a little cave far above our fair city, with a little dog named Max & has lots of greenish fur.

OK, I suppose there could be downfalls to the choco-riffic fumes. What if you were on a diet? What if you were diabetic & couldn't eat sweets? It would be torturous, perhaps.

But today, as on most days (in summer especially) the air smelled so sweet. I sat in the park with baby, sliding down the slides that are riddled with gang graffiti, pushing her on the one swing that hasn't been destroyed yet. Tried to shield her little ears to all the cursing being spewed by the other parents & kids. But I took a deep, delicious breath and thought, "At least in my neighborhood, it doesn't smell like pee."

park with baby - those are great times...even better since the park doesn't smell like pee.

I think it's cool that you guys live in ChocolateTown

Damn the dirty bastard trying to end it!

Has Killjoy been taking crazy pills? Sometimes I drive past Blommer just for the chocolate scent. Besides, a bit farther down Milwaukee and you get that bread scent from the place that starts with a 'G'.

It's almost like you had a meal and it's far better than pee.

Laura, I just got the second season of PR on DVD. I'm so psyched!! Wanna come over and hide out all weekend? D can take care of E, right? I mean this is Santino and Daniel we're talking about!

Priorities, woman.

I used to work near Ontario and Orleans. Every morning I'd get off the train at Chicago and was greeted by the delicious scent of baking brownies. It was wonderful, except that I'd crave brownies for the rest of the day.

I heard of the EPA ban on the scent on NPR a few months ago. What a dick! Who would complain about such a thing? Perhaps we should ban flowers? They emit nice odors but look at all the allergens they produce. Asthmatics unite! How many must die before we ban the sweet, deadly scent of daisies?

Michael- HA, yeah really.

Di- I wish I could! I only got into the show towards the end of last season, while stumbling into a marathon on Bravo. Was last season #2?

I'm a teacher. Apparently this means I must know EVERY answer to EVERY question in all of creation. Heaven help me if I make a spelling error. I'm also a wife & "new Mommie" (shudder). Don't get me wrong, I love my babies, but the phrase "new mommie" has got to go. It just conjures up images of scrunchies & sweat pants in my mind. Phooey.
