So ole Ronnie's been denied another shot at the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Should've known this was coming, right? It's not the first time this has happened. What's keeping him out? The Veteran's Committee.

Seems odd that the last 3 times they have voted nobody into the Hall... or Ron Santo really is a dick. Maybe he burned a few bridges along the way. Who knows. Or do you think everyone's sick of hearing him bitch about not getting in? I don't know.

I really do feel badly for him, but at the same time, I'll admit I get a little sick of hearing about it. He does talk (whine?) about it a lot in the media. Seems to me if you have to ask to be honored, it shouldn't mean as much. It doesn't seem like you should demand to be honored in the Hall of Fame. Sure, it would be great. But still, it's an honor, not a right. The Cubs retired his number. That should mean a whole lot, if not everything.

I don't mean to diss, I do love him, really I do. I do feel a little bit dirty writing this. He has done a lot for the Diabetes cause... hey he got that crazy dude to walk to Chicago from Arizona! That's something to be proud of. Maybe just lay off the Hall of Fame smack-talk, and let's see what happens in 09.

Oh, and Thurman Munson didn't get in either.
